Printing Test Results with the DSS-5000 Subaru

DSS-5000 SUB units do not include an integrated printer. This decision was made by Subaru corporate to support the usage of less paper, and to leverage the tools built-in e-mail and BMIS functionality.

FAQs

Can I use the Brother printer I already have in my dealership?

Yes. As of May 2018, the Brother printer installed at dealerships connected to the subtronics01 Wi-Fi network can be used for printing from the DSS-5000.

To set-up the printer go into the Settings app on the Main Menu. Click on the Printer Icon, Under WiFi printer click the “+” icon, then search for the printer. After the search is completed it should display all printers found. Just select the printer to add.

See the product manual for details on how to add a Wi-Fi printer.

How else can I print test results?

There are three other ways you can print test results from a DSS-5000:

  1. You can utilize the built-in e-mail functionality on the tool. Click “Send Results” and select “E-mail” from the test results screen;
  2. You can set-up test records to automatically be e-mailed to a pre-set e-mail address (such as for a service manager); or
  3. You can log into BMIS (https://bmis.midtronics.com) to view all the test records captured from your dealership and print results.
